INSEF Submission
INSEF Project submissions for 2026-27 are closed.
INSEF Communication Notice: All communication regarding INSEF must be sent to info@sciencesociety.in via email.
Please do not send INSEF-related queries or requests through WhatsApp.
No new submission will be accepted, please do not send your project details via email.
Any attempt to communicate using falsified or misleading information will result in permanent disqualification from INSEF.
All submitted projects are currently undergoing the review process. The list of selected projects for each Regional Fair will be announced on the respective dates mentioned below.

Details:
- Subject categories include: Energy, Engineering, Environment, Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology, Behavioural Science, Computer Science & Engineering and Technology.
- A team of maximum 2 participants can apply
- Students from Grade 5 to 12 can participate in INSEF
- Students who are from Grade 5 to 8 are considered as Junior category and Grade 9 to 12 are considered as Senior category
- A project cannot have a mix of Junior and Senior category students. Any such entry received, will be disqualified.
- The project can be either practical Engineering based or a Research based project.
- There is no specific theme for INSEF at any time.
- All the projects submitted will be reviewed and shortlisted for the appropriate INSEF Regional Fair.
- You can submit your project only to one Region. Making attempt to submit from multiple region would lead to disqualification from INSEF
- You can only participate in a single project, for e.g. after selection result is announced and if your name appears in multiple projects then it is your responsibility to inform the organizers about multi-selection. You should inform and accept only one project for participation. Not doing so will lead to disqualification from INSEF
- No name changes for participants or guides are allowed once you submit your project.
- If we are unable to hold the offline physical fair at any region, then it would be clubbed with the Online entries.
During submission we ask for a PDF file containing all the project details and a video URL of your project demonstration.
Announcement: Introduction of INSEF-plus (Grades 11 & 12)
This year, we are introducing INSEF-plus, a new participation format exclusively for students in Grades 11 and 12.
Please note the following details:
- Entirely Online Participation: Students in Grades 11 and 12 can participate entirely online without travelling to any physical regional or national fair.
- Online Regional Fair: A nationwide Online Regional Fair will be conducted exclusively for Grades 11 and 12 students.
- Online National Fair: Students qualifying through the Online Regional Fair will advance to the Online National Fair.
- Automatic Conversion of Entries: All project entries submitted by Grade 11 and 12 students for any physical Regional Fair will automatically be considered under the INSEF-plus Online category.

No Resubmission Required:
Students do not need to submit their projects again.
- For example, a Grade 11 student from Bangalore who has already submitted a project for the Bangalore Regional Fair will automatically be considered for the INSEF-plus Online Regional Category.
- Separate Results: The selection results for Grade 11 and 12 students participating through INSEF-plus will be announced separately from the regular regional and national fair results.
- International Opportunity: The Top 3 winning projects from the INSEF-plus Online National Fair will qualify for the Genius Olympiad, USA.
- Mixed-Grade Teams: If a project team consists of students from Grades 11/12 along with students from lower grades, the entire team and project will be considered under the INSEF-plus category.
- Selection Dates: All the selection dates are mentioned below, do not contact us asking about dates. After review, only the selected projects will be qualified for the INSEF Regional Fair.

Students from grade 5-10 who have submitted their projects under the Online category there will be a separate Regional Fair in the Online mode. Top winners from this fair will qualify for the INSEF National Fair, to be held from January 2 to 5, 2027, in Jamnagar, Gujarat
11th and 12th Graders please note, if you have submitted project for any of the Regional Fair, they will be automatically considered for online category of INSEF-plus. The selection results for your projects will be announced together with the INSEF-plus Online category results.

- Withdrawal from the Fair: Selected participants who do not plan to attend the fair must inform us by sending an email to info@sciencesociety.in. Failure to inform us will result in disqualification from future INSEF participation.
- Multiple Project Selections: If a student's name appears in two or more selected projects, the student must retain only one project and withdraw from the others. This must be communicated to us by 8th November 2026.
- Official Communication: All questions and queries must be sent to info@sciencesociety.in. Please do not contact us through WhatsApp.
- Project Stall Codes and Schedule: Project stall codes along with the day's schedule will be published on this page by 25th November 2026.

Information for Outstation Participants:
- This is a one-day fair. Accommodation or overnight stay will not be provided.
